FREE: Ngoma Art of the Drum Festival 2023

  • Madam CJ Walker Park (map)

Join us as we celebrate the Art of the Drum at the Harvest Share Festival on 16 September in Madam CJ Walker Park.  Moyo is honored to host a series of drumming and Dance workshops that will take participants from the sounds of Latin America as we trace the roots of modern rhythms in America.

Workshops are free and open to the public, and drums are available to borrow if you don’t have your own. The Celebration will kick off at 12pm with our first drum circle, Wellness tent featuring local vendors, and the Children’s Book Fair featuring the Baldwin Project byDenver Cares Mentoring.

In celebration of Harvest Share we have a special terrarium making workshop to help us bring green spaces inside at 2pm. Due to limited supplies pre-registration is required at https://NgomaHarvestShare.eventbrite.com

Our hope is that by sharing African and Afro-Latino musical traditions in the context of community, Denver residents will be able to celebrate their common history and culture thereby fostering a sense of belonging.

These free community workshops were made possible by funding from the City of Denver.
